Training as a flagship product

From 1-3 of October, experts and trainers from 11 EU Member States met to discuss, plan and develop training system of CELBET.

Latvia hasn’t been chosen accidentally. Latvian Customs Service agreed to support CELBET Member States in train control filed and gave a green light for CELBET to establish Center of Expertise on Train Search in Daugavpils.

Experts and trainers have been working on tasks, which influence customs work and training national systems of all 11 CELBET Member States:

  • Updating the training catalogue, which is the collection of best training methods and tailored modules
  • Organization of customs control specialized trainings
  • Advising and mentoring national customs administrations in training activities
  • Center of Expertise standarization
  • Sharing of experience after previous trainings

– said Head of CELBET Andras Bartha at the opening Training Workshop in Riga.

The event was a chance to exchange trainers’ experience in a different expertise of training, starting from x-ray, sniffer dogs, customs control process and vehicles control.

Important role of CELBET is supporting national administrations in training area basing on the CELBET training system. Listing training needs, trainers, facilities and availabilities, exchanging best practices are the deliverables in the training part in the new expert team EUCABET.

I would like to echo what Training team leader said, that the training is extremely important and although we are coming to the end of the project it doesn’t mean that international cooperation in training disappears. Training is one of the flagship product of CELBET.

Workshop form of the event and active involvement of participants helped to specified new ideas and create new approach to the training system, so that it enables to tailor and update trainings to the new challenges and technological solutions.
