Equipment Team Leader Lauris Krivans played a pivotal role in guiding and moderating a high-impact workshop on Border Crossing Point (BCP) project preparation, organized on 27-28 of February by the Transport Community in Serbia.
This workshop is a direct outcome of the EU’s commitment to the Green Lanes initiative, reaffirmed at the EU-Western Balkans Summit in December 2024. It also marks a milestone in the almost three-year collaboration between CELBET and the Transport Community, both dedicated to developing the border crossing infrastructure across the Western Balkans.
CELBET’s expertise in BCP equipment was a key driving force behind Krivans’ participation. During the workshop, he introduced a structured methodology for developing technical and functional specifications for border equipment. Additionally, he conducted an in-depth assessment of the equipment needs for Green Lanes, ensuring that border crossings align with modern efficiency and security standards.
This initiative underscores a shared commitment to streamlining border procedures, reducing delays, and fostering regional connectivity, reinforcing the EU-Western Balkans cooperation in border management.
